The January 20202 design would leave Heights’ students and our community with not only the district’s smallest field of 78,000 square feet, but a field that would be 52,000 square feet less than the district’s average field size of 130,000 sf. Del Mar Heights will drop from the 3rd largest field to the smallest, on a redesign for less students.
The field will be less than half the size needed to meet the legal requirement of the California Department of Education, yet the buildings will expand to the district’s largest per student and more than double the legal requirement.
